Baptism & Transfers in April 2025

On 13th April 2025, we celebrated the baptism of two babies, Elliot Zhang and Sara Lim. We also welcomed three adult transferring members, Timothy Chow, Zoey Loke and Adran Wong.
This special occasion reminds us of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
All these newcomers were accompanied by Sponsors who were chosen to carry out the instruction of verse 20 which states: “teaching them to obey everything…”
All of us, as a church, are also committed to provide guidance and support to nurture these new members into mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
How can you participate in this vital work?
You can do it directly by serving as Sunday School teachers or Cell Group Leaders or Mentors (Sponsors). If you are not doing any of these roles, there is still something you ought to do. Be good examples for them to follow, heeding the warning in Matthew 18:6:
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
True disciples show kindness and hospitality to one another, even in small ways such as offering a cup of cold water. (Mt 10:42) This act of kindness may seem insignificant, but Jesus promises that it will not go unnoticed or unrewarded.
As Galatians 6:10 encourages us, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
