Boys' & Girls' Brigade
The Boys’ Brigade (BB) and The Girls’ Brigade (GB) are Christian-based uniformed youth organisations which operate in local schools as Co-Curricular Activities (CCA).
Jurong Christian Church (JCC) supports one BB Company (28th) from Yuhua Secondary and one GB Company (51st) from Shuqun Primary School.
Our JCC members serve as Officers and ad-hoc helpers among these Boys and Girls. Our activities include Bible studies, foot drill, life skills, leadership training, adventure and camping. Through our weekly interaction with the children and youths, we build relationships with them, loving them and providing guidance and mentorship to build them up in character and skills. The Good News of Jesus Christ is also shared through our teaching and modeling of our lives.
The Boys' Brigade
The Object of The Boys’ Brigade shall be the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among Boys, and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect, and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.
Some key activities of BB is the discipline of devotions and conducting Christian Education (CE) classes for the Boys. Mentoring relationships can thus be built with the youths as they train in soft and hard skills.
The Girls Brigade
The Girls’ Brigade aims to help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life. We also make it our mission to develop each girl and officer to her fullest potential by equipping, empowering and enabling:
- Every Girl a Leader
- Every Officer a Servant Leader
Aside from badgework, devotions are a part of their core activities. Leaders are also constantly being trained to handle their juniors, who will also have to undergo training by them too.
