Givers’ Appreciation Lunch for Volunteers

Local volunteer groups are the backbone of strong communities. In recognition of their dedication, Fei Yue Community Services together with SG Cares Volunteer Centres co-hosted a Givers’ Appreciation Lunch on 23rd March. Held at the Jubilee Garden Restaurant in SAFRA Toa Payoh, the event was graced by Guest of Honour, Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Gan Kim Yong.

Jurong Christian Church, through our outreach program, Goshen Bridges, was proud to be included. We believe in extending care to those in need within our neighbourhood, and collaborating with partners like Fei Yue allows us to make a greater impact.

Representatives from our church, including Gek Luang, Bee Teng, Loh Shan, and myself, were so blessed to attend. The lunch provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers from Taman Jurong and share experiences.

Guests and VIPs got creative at the event with a fun bookmark-weaving activity. They used cardboard looms and recycled materials to design their own bookmarks. These keepsakes could be enjoyed by the participants themselves, swapped with others, or even donated for distribution to beneficiaries.

May the spirit of volunteerism continue to flourish in our communities, fostering selflessness and compassion. We pray for continued blessings on Goshen Bridges as JCCians strive to be an effective bridge for those in need.
