Installation of Council Members and Appreciation of Our Pastors

Sunday, 18th May 2025, was a noteworthy day for the English congregation of Jurong Christian Church with the following two special events:
1) New Council Members Installed
The day saw Bishop Lu Guan Hoe officiating the installation of the congregation’s newly elected Council members. These individuals, recently chosen by the church at their Annual General Meeting, are:
Chong Wong Mui, Bryan Tay Hai Huat, Caleb Lee Jia Le, Benedict Lee Enwei, Nathanael Yeap Je Ren and Justin Tay Pek Lim.
Bishop Lu reminded the elected members about their important role as leaders. Referencing St. Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 12, he highlighted that there are different kinds of spiritual gifts and ways of serving, all empowered by the same Spirit and for the common good. As leaders, they are called to lead in a way that reflects Christ’s love and to work together for the church’s mission.
The elected members affirmed their commitment to their duties, and the congregation likewise affirmed their support. Bishop Lu then formally installed the new council members.
2) Pastors Honoured
We also celebrated Pastors Appreciation Sunday. This was a simple event; yet, it was a meaningful opportunity for the congregation to express their gratitude to their spiritual shepherds:
Bishop Lu Guan Hoe, Reverend Anthony Loh, Reverend Caleb Oh, Reverend Martin Yee and Deacon Nathan.
The congregation recognized their pastors for their dedication in leading and caring for them. As a gesture of the congregation’s appreciation for their efforts and guidance, Council member Bryan Tay presented a small token and a card to each pastor.
Prayer for the Leaders
We give thanks to God for raising up these individuals to serve in leadership and pastoral roles. As they step into or continue in these roles of service, we pray for them, trusting in God’s strength.
As it is written in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
May God equip them with wisdom, grace and perseverance, enabling them to lead with humility and serve with joy for His glory and the building up of the church.
