Mid-Autumn Festival 2025: Shine Bright with Joy and Love

On 4 October 2025, the JCC Children’s Ministry teamed up with DGP and the Young Parents’ Cell Group to host a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival and Children’s Day celebration for families and friends.

Themed “Shine Bright with Joy and Love,” the evening brought together 110 participants ‒ including 21 families from JCC, 7 families from DGP, and 8 families from the wider community ‒ for a time of fun, fellowship, and thanksgiving.

The celebration aimed to honor God’s gift of children and our cultural traditions in a way that reflects Christ’s love, nurtures fellowship among families and blesses the community with joy and hospitality. It was a beautiful opportunity to share God’s light and warmth with those around us.

The evening began with an array of engaging activities for all ages. Families enjoyed lively bingo rounds and a riddle game that had children giggling and thinking hard for answers. One of the highlights of the night was the talent show, where the children confidently showcased their God-given gifts through singing, dancing, and creative performances that delighted everyone present.

After dinner, families enjoyed a time of fellowship and hands-on fun as they eagerly put together their handmade lanterns. As dusk settled, participants embarked on a lantern walk, lighting up the night with their handmade lanterns, beautifully symbolizing Christ, the Light of the World, shining through us to share hope and love.

The evening concluded on a sweet note as every child received a goodie bag, a simple token of love and blessing.

The Mid-Autumn Festival reminded us that beyond cultural traditions, our deepest joy comes from the unifying light of Christ. May we continue to let His light guide us to shine bright with joy and love, sharing His warmth with our community.

Reflection by Edwin (Event Emcee): It was such a joy to emcee the Mid-Autumn Festival. I’m just so happy and blessed to be able to serve and share fun and laughter with everyone in the church. My absolute favorite part of the night had to be the JCC Got Talent segment. Seeing the four kids get up there and sing “Hallelujah” was such a powerful moment of praise. It was the highlight for me!
