Reaching out to Taman Jurong
By Martin Cheah
According to a population density map, Taman Jurong have a population of 20,000 to 25,000 people.
If we assume that each family will consist of 4 persons, then there are about 6,250 (25000 ÷ 4) families to reach out to.
If we reach out to 1 family per day, it will take us more than 17 years to complete the task.
“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.’” (Matthew 9:37-38)
“I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” (John 4:35b)
The harvest is plentiful indeed. Recently, there was a launch of a Lake Garden Residences condo which I believe will be a stone’s throw from JCC. Then there is a development in progress where we used to have our worship services at 101 Yuan Ching Road. We have members going out distributing bread and we also have members going around to pray. Let us open our eyes to the harvest and pray for the Lord to send out more workers into His harvest.
