The Sun Meeting The Cross
On the morning of 5th Oct, our brother K. P. Teh had the chance moment of noticing the sun meeting the cross at the rooftop of our church building. He felt that it was a beautiful image and was so excited to share a photo of it.
Seeing the picture, I couldn’t agree more with him. It was indeed a beautiful sight to behold. More than that, the sun meeting the cross is an apt reminder of the intersection of faith and hope.
Luke 1:78-79 (CEV) says:
-
“God’s love and kindness will shine upon us like the sun that rises in the sky.”
-
“On us who live in the dark shadow of death this light will shine to guide us into a life of peace.”
Thus, the sun is a symbol of God’s light and love, while the cross is a symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice and our salvation. Together, they represent the power of God’s grace to overcome darkness and despair.
Overall, the photo is a powerful reminder of the love and hope that God offers to us through Jesus Christ. It is a reminder that we are never alone, and that God is always with us.
Finally, the photo could also be seen as a symbol of the unity of all people. The church building is a place where people of all backgrounds come together to worship God. The fact that the sun is shining down on both the cross and the church building suggests that God loves and cares for all people.
Amen!
