A Special Dialect Service – Sowing seeds of faith
Sunday 17th March 2024 – About 8 years after Patrick Quek helped us in our fund-raising dinner at 101 Yuan Ching Road, this is the 1st time he has come to preach in the Dialect service.
Patrick or more famously known as 郭贤华 (Guo Xianhua) was a well-known singer of stage shows.
The Dialect singers and musicians arrived at 2pm to practise the worship songs. Usually by 2:30pm about 30 persons would have arrived but this Sunday, it looked like less than half the usual number were here.
As time flew past, the numbers were very slow to increase. I was worried that Patrick would be disappointed to see only about 20 people turn up for the service to hear him preach. But Patrick’s arrival was also delayed as he was unfamiliar with public transport to Taman Jurong. Finally, when he arrived, the number of people reached 88 persons, a slight increase from the weekly average of 72 persons. Thanks to the efforts of those who invited their relatives, friends or neighbours to come and listen, there were about 6 newcomers.
“Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed.” Ecclesiastes 11:6a
