Dialect Ministry’s 17th Anniversary Celebration

Although the Dialect Ministry’s actual anniversary date is in March, we normally celebrate on Easter Sunday because holding it earlier would fall during the Lent season. This year, we had an attendance of about 108 people for the dialect worship service followed by a refreshment fellowship session. The two varieties of bento set meals served were a hit, receiving enthusiastic praise from everyone who who ate.
The initial planning began in Nov 2024 at Telulah Hill Farm Resort when the date for celebrating the Anniversary was decided. Later, in early 2025, further details such as the food menu, gifts, quiz activities, a video presentation, and a song performance were finalized.
The Dialect Leadership Team (DLT) and the Dialect Worship Team collaborated to form a singing group of about 15 singers and 2 guitarists. They began rehearsing their song about two months prior to the event. About a week before their performance, they decided to wear batik shirts. While some members needed to borrow or purchase batik for this occasion, I believe they will have opportunities to wear them again at future events.
This event ended with a heavy downpour and so many of the elders stayed back to continue their fellowship until the rain abated.
I can’t describe the song presentation in words, but you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/-GoBq-m1usU
