Culling Runts Early

Culling Runts Early
Removing males used to be the main early selection step, and with feminized seeds that job is replaced by culling weak seedlings. A plant that lags well behind its siblings by week two rarely recovers enough to justify its spot under the light. Guidelines for what counts as a genuine runt versus a slow starter are laid out at https://queenfeminizedseeds.com, since some strains simply take longer to get going. Be ruthless but give obvious mutations a few extra days first.
