Manna Bridge Outreach Event

The Goshen Initiative

The Goshen Initiative, a vibrant community outreach program of Jurong Christian Church (JCC), continues to thrive.

We build our links to the community through the Goshen Bridges, such as Manna Bridge, Allegra kidsREAD Club, Befrienders for Cyclists, VIC (reaching out to the Vulnerable-in-community), etc.

The Manna Bridge is a prominent example of the Goshen Bridges. It plays a vital role in our community outreach efforts through the distribution of food to the needy.

By serving the community and sharing the love of Christ, JCC aims to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us.

Kindness in Action

On a beautiful Friday evening (November 8th), the Manna Bridge team was energized as we gathered to distribute food to the needy residents in our neighbour-hood. This event was especially meaningful as it coincided with Kindness Week at David & Goliath Preschool (DGP).

A total of 63 participants, including 21 families, 11 DGP teachers, and 10 JCC members, joined forces to distribute canned food to residents in HDB blocks 116, 117, and 118. It was heartwarming to see young children and their parents actively involved in this act of kindness.

A Shared Experience

The children, with the guidance of their parents, learned to greet the elderly residents with respect and kindness. The residents were overjoyed to see the young volunteers and felt a sense of warmth and care.

This shared experience strengthened family bonds and instilled in the children the importance of empathy and compassion. By participating in this outreach, we hope to nurture a generation of young people who are passionate about serving others and making a difference in their community.

A Testament to God’s Love

As Hebrews 13:16 reminds us, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Through the Manna Bridge and other components of the Goshen Initiative, we strive to live out this biblical principle and be a beacon of hope in our community.

We are grateful for all the dedicated volunteers who made this Manna Bridge outreach event a success.

Together, we can continue to build bridges of love and compassion in our community.
