With Divine Blessings, JCC Bakers’ Hut Rises
The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the air as JCC Bakers’ Hut, a project born of love and faith, took its first steps towards becoming a beacon of community spirit. This delightful initiative, spearheaded by the “We Are BFF” cell group, sought to connect with and serve the local community through the universal appeal of manna bread, in testimony of God’s provision and sustenance.
On 26 November 2023, eleven individuals, their hearts filled with shared enthusiasm, kneaded their way into this sweet adventure. Leading the way were John Wong, a seasoned baker with experience at Crystal Jade Restaurant; and Gek Luang, a self-taught baker who shared her expertise with a generous heart. For many participants, this initial foray into baking was an exciting adventure, filled with laughter, learning, and the satisfaction of creating something delicious.
JCC Bakers’ Hut is not merely a place to learn the art of baking; its mission not only to craft delectable treats but also to build bridges of warmth and connection, and testify of God’s blessings through His provisions. It is an embodiment of JCC’s ongoing outreach efforts, aligning perfectly with the Manna Bridge under the Goshen Initiative.
If you would like to engage with our neighbours, share the joy of baking, and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, please do join us in upcoming workshops. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice or an experienced baker. Remember, brother John Wong will generously share his knowledge and baking secrets.
Praise the Lord!
