JCC Kids’ Camp 2024
It has been some time since iSHINE had an overnight camp; so naturally, it was an exciting time as we organised, prepared, and gathered helpers, participants and a spiritually enriching (yet fun) itinerary.
Looking back, we are overflowing with gratitude for this incredible 2-day 1-night camp. We even had some campers sleeping away from home for the first time!
With about two dozen children from the primary level, along with group leaders, assistant leaders, committee members and an engaging speaker, the camp’s theme ‘Be strong in the LORD’ truly came to life.
Here are some of the many things we are thankful to God for:
- Powerful messages and activities – The children connected with the speaker’s messages, craft session and theme song that pointed them to their strength in Christ.
- Jungle blessings – The jungle walk was blessed with perfect weather and even some rare wildlife sightings, a stark contrast to the heavy showers that plagued previous weekends.
- Embracing new experiences – The campers bravely adjusted to a new way of showering (thanks to the JCCians who shared their boilers and pails).
- Connecting with parents – The speaker’s session for parents was a fantastic opportunity to share what their children learnt in the camp. Big thanks to the parents who made the time to attend the interactive Parent-Child session.
- Appreciative hearts – We received many expressions of gratitude from the parents for taking good care of their children, and giving them bonus couple time.
Our prayers for a memorable camp were truly answered!
