JCC Worship Retreat 2024 – Recharging Faith, Rekindling Friendships

The JCC Worship Retreat took place from November 28 to 30, 2024, at the Changi CSC Ferry Point Chalet. It was our first retreat since Covid-19, and while it was packed with fun and laughter, the real highlight was reconnecting with one another amidst the busyness and chaos of this year.

A handful of us stayed over on the first night—huge thanks to Nat for driving us out to Changi Village for a delicious dinner!

We kicked things off with a hilarious online game called Fibbage, which helped us learn random tidbits about each other while sharing light-hearted jokes. Let’s just say, some things are hard to un-hear!

The next morning, we whipped up a cozy breakfast of eggs, cheese, sausages, and toast. It really felt like we were on a mini overseas getaway, chilling in a warm and homey space.

Once everyone arrived from Church, we began with a time of worship followed by an inspiring sharing session by Jason on vocation. That set the tone for the rest of the day, which included some fun games and a reflective session where we charted our “Faith Map Journey”. Sharing our faith experiences in this safe and welcoming space was incredibly moving, reminding us how our journeys shaped who we are and how they’ve brought us together.

Of course, no retreat would be complete without a BBQ to wrap things up! The night was filled with music, great food, and plenty of moments to bond and just enjoy each other’s company.

A huge shoutout to the MLT – Nat and the team – for organizing everything so beautifully. And a big thank-you to everyone who helped with the little details, from food preparation to logistics to making sure everyone felt included and accounted for. Lastly, we thank God for providing us with this space, perfect weather, and for keeping all of us safe throughout the retreat.

This retreat was a much-needed spiritual recharge, allowing us to connect with like-minded individuals and deepen our relationship with God. As we carry the lessons and friendships from this retreat into 2025, I’m excited to see how God will continue to guide and grow our Worship Ministry.
