JCC Kids Camp 2025 – A Heart of Service

From 14 to 16 March 2025, JCC Kids Camp returned with the theme “A Heart of Service”, inspired by Acts 20:35— “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” This year’s camp aimed to instil in the children the joy of serving others, cultivating a spirit of kindness and selflessness. Through an exciting lineup of activities, they experienced firsthand what it means to have a servant’s heart.
A Weekend of Fun and Meaningful Activities
The camp was packed with activities that encouraged teamwork, creativity, and compassion. The children slept in cozy tents, experiencing a glimpse of outdoor camping. They also went on a craft galore, getting their hands busy creating makeshift tambourines, shakers, and even a first-aid box, reinforcing the theme of serving through creativity and resourcefulness.
One of the camp’s highlights was the visit to St. Andrew’s Nursing Home, where the children performed songs in four languages, bringing joy and warmth to the elderly residents. It was a touching experience that deepened their understanding of love in action.
Games, games, and more games! No camp is complete without games! From relay races to team challenges, the children had a blast while learning about communication, strategizing, and teamwork.
On the final night, the children put together a heartfelt performance for their parents, singing the songs they had learned for St. Andrew’s Nursing Home, including the theme song. They also played simple bonding games and gifted their parents handcrafted shrinking keychains—an expression of their gratitude and love.
Welcoming New Faces
This year, we were delighted to welcome several new children to the camp. It was heartening to see them quickly warm up to their peers, forming new friendships and embracing the camp’s activities with enthusiasm. Their participation added vibrancy to our camp family, and we hope to see them continue growing in faith and service.
Heartfelt Appreciation
Kids Camp would not have been possible without the dedication of our committee members and helpers. From liaising and planning to logistics and execution, their tireless efforts made the camp a meaningful and smooth experience for all. A huge thank you to each and every one of them for their servant hearts!
All Glory be to God!
Above all, we give thanks to God for His provision, protection, and presence throughout JCC Kids Camp 2025. From the joyful moments to the quiet reflections, He worked in the hearts of every child, leader, and volunteer, planting seeds of service and love that will continue to grow. May we carry forward the lessons learned, living out the truth that indeed, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
