A Memorable Day in Johor Bahru

15th August 2025 was a special day for a group of seven folks from Jurong Christian Church (JCC) who made a wonderful trip to the LCM Johor Bahru Lutheran Church (LCM-JBLC) in Taman Pelangi, Johor Bahru. Led by Brother Tony Koh and Deacon Nathan of JCC’s Dialect Ministry, the visit was a good mix of spiritual connection, friendly bonding and some fun leisure time.
The day started early at 8:30 a.m. when everyone met at Kranji MRT station. After getting through Malaysia Custom around 9:30 a.m., they grabbed a quick coffee before heading to LCM-JBLC. Once there, they were greeted warmly by Reverend Andrew Goh, the Pastor-in-Charge, and Mr. Alfred, a Council member of LCM-JBLC.
A part of the visit was a devotion and prayer session with the LCM-JBLC church members. This was a great way for everyone to connect spiritually. Afterwards, they all enjoyed a delicious lunch together at a nearby restaurant. This lunch was extra special because it was also a farewell for Deacon Nathan and his wife, Florence. They will soon be leaving JCC’s Dialect Ministry for a new ministry season in Medan, Indonesia. Everyone prayed for God’s blessings upon them as they make their plans.
In the afternoon, the JCC group enjoyed some fun activities. They went shopping at Mid-Valley Village, and had a classic Malaysian treat of durian tasting at the Benting Datuk Oon area, before heading back to Singapore.
Brother Tony Koh, who had organized similar short trips before, mentioned he hopes these become a regular “annual catch-up fellowship trips”, helping the churches stay connected.
This trip was truly a wonderful time of friendship and relaxation, leaving everyone feeling uplifted. We wish Deacon Nathan and Florence all the best in their new ministry in Medan.
