Family Day 2026

“Oh, there’s no Family Day this year?” I asked my husband incredulously. The annual Labour Day church outing had become a mainstay in my calendar since joining the church a few years back. I had gotten to know quite a few people through these fellowship events, such as through bowling activities or mini games at Jurong Lake.

“Why don’t we just do a simple get-together?” we thought. We put out an open invite for an informal picnic at Jurong Lake Gardens on the morning of 1st May 2026.
We were amazed and thankful to see about 25 of our church friends join us. Many brought snacks to share, including homemade jelly, crackers and fruits. Brother Xavier set up a sandwich station with four flavours of tuna! It proved so popular, Brother Boris had to make a run to the nearby convenience store for more bread. While the adults caught up and got to know one another better, the children had fun with bubbles and games. We even made friends with some other children playing nearby.

Despite the rainy weather forecast, God held the rain. There was only a slight drizzle that lasted a few minutes. Everyone gamely sat with umbrellas open and continued enjoying the fellowship.

We thank God for the JCC family. Already looking forward to the next family day!
