Reflection on Luke 8:40-56
On 4th Oct, the JWCG had a great fellowship time. We watched the You/tube video and reflected on two powerful miracles performed by Jesus in Luke 8:40-56:
- First, Jesus encounters a woman with a 12-year bleeding condition who had been unable to find healing. Through faith, she simply touches the hem of His garment, and instantly, her bleeding stops. Jesus acknowledges her faith and declares her healed.
The key idea is that true faith does not require external validation or impressive demonstrations. It is a simple act of trust and reliance on God, regardless of our circumstances or abilities.
- Second, Jesus is called to the home of Jairus, a synagogue leader, whose 12-year-old daughter is dying. Despite the disbelief of those around Him, Jesus insists that she is only asleep. Through His power, He raises her from the dead, demonstrating His authority over even death itself. Though Jairus’ daughter’s condition seemed to worsen as Jesus delayed His response, He ultimately answered Jairus’ plea and healed his daughter.
This reminds us of the importance of patience and perseverance in our relationship with God, never giving up hope even when circumstances seem dire.
These miracles reveal the compassionate nature of Jesus. He is not only a powerful healer but also a loving and caring Savior who responds to the needs of those around Him. He is aware of our struggles, our pain, and our deepest desires. He offers hope, healing, and restoration to all who believe in Him.
Let us draw near to Him, trusting in His promises and knowing that He is the answer to our prayers.
